Hi! My name is Stevie Mahardhika,
and I’m a children’s illustrator.
Originally from Indonesia, Stevie moved to Auckland, New Zealand, to pursue a Bachelor’s in Graphic Design. Since then, New Zealand has become the place he calls home.
Stevie has loved drawing for as long as he can remember. Like many kids growing up, his early inspiration came from the storytelling worlds of anime, manga, and video games. Over time, he rediscovered his passion for children’s illustration. And found that his earliest inspirations were the whimsical animal worlds of Richard Scarry, Tony Wolf, and Shogo Hirata.
Today, he brings those influences together with his passion for storytelling to create bright, and playful characters that leap off the page.
When Stevie is not drawing at his desk, you’ll probably find him in the library catching up on the children’s literature he said he missed growing up from playing too many video games.
